35th Breeders’ Cup World Championships Race Day Schedule

The Breeders’ Cup today announced today the race schedule for the 35th Breeders’ Cup World Championships. This year all the Breeders’ Cup races for 2-year-olds will be run on November 2. Churchill Downs is the host site for the 2018 Breeders’ Cup World Championships.

The race card for November 2 will include; the $2-million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (Grade 1), the $1-million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint, $1-million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (Grade 1), the $1-million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (Grade 1) and the $2-million Sentient Jet Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (Grade 1).

Saturday’s, November 3, Breeders’ Cup card will feature nine Breeders’ Cup races.  Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup include; $2 Million Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff (Grade 1), $1Million Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (Grade 1), $2 Million Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, $2 Million Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1), $2 Million Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (Grade 1), $2 Million TwinSpires Breeders’ Cup Sprint (Grade 1), $2 Million Breeders’ Cup Mile (Grade 1), $4 Million Longines Breeders’ Cup Turf (Grade 1), $6-million Breeders’ Cup Classic (Grade 1) will be the last of nine Breeders’ Cup on Saturday.

 

“With the increased excitement and international interest in our Juvenile races, ‘Future Stars Friday’ will create an identity to showcase the emerging stars of our sport on the first day of the World Championships,” said Craig Fravel, Breeders’ Cup president and CEO.  “Churchill Downs also provides the perfect stage for our fans to witness the potential candidates for next year’s Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks, as well as standouts competing from overseas.

“We also look forward to the Distaff and Dirt Mile bolstering an already blockbuster line up of World Championship races on Saturday culminating with the $6-million Breeders’ Cup Classic,” Fravel added.
