Results of Stakes Races at Indiana Grand on July 14

The Graded Stakes races at Indiana Grand on July 14th are : the $500,000 Indiana Derby , Grade III, for three -year-old males going 1 1/16 mile on the dirt, $200,000 Indiana Oaks, Grade III, three -year-old fillies going 1 1/16 mile on the dirt.

The other stake races on the Indiana Derby Night card include the $100,000 Mari Hulman George Stakes, (Listed), the $100,000 Warrior Veterans Stakes, (Listed), the $100,000 Michael G. Schaefer Memorial, (Listed), and the $100,000 Indiana General Assembly Distaff ,(Listed).

Race 4. Mari Hulman George Stakes. For three-year-old fillies and mares at  1 1/16 mile on the dirt. Purse $100,000.

Awestruck and Torrent were the early pace setters. Pinch Hit was stalking the pace setters down the back stretch. Awestruck and Pinch Hit started their duel in the final turn. They changed positions down the lane until Pinch Hit took a small lead near the wire to win by a 3/4 of a length. Torrent ran fourth . Pinch Hit was the favorite. Running time – 1:34.92.
